Jason Hunt
Jason runs a 2:24 marathon and has coached several runners to sub-2:45 on debut. Before the marathon took over he raced as a professional long-distance triathlete, where he learned how much cross-training quietly shapes a runner: how to build the aerobic engine without breaking down, and when the legs need something other than more miles.
He started The Marathon Clinic to give every runner what a great coach gives: specific feedback on each run, in context, between sessions, not just a schedule handed over once. As an Athletics Australia Advanced Running Coach and an accredited Triathlon New Zealand coach, his coaching is grounded in formal education and current sports science, kept honest by what works in the real world. (He also holds a world record for the fastest marathon run in a suit.)
Jason coaches the way he would want to be coached: honest, calm, and built around your life. The plan adapts to you, never the other way round, and he will tell you straight when to push and when to hold back.

Jason's method is simple to say and hard to do: get as close to the race as you can, as often as you can sustain it, and build the whole thing around your real life. The long run, salted with marathon-pace work under fatigue, is the centerpiece. Everything else exists to let you do that run, and the next one, and the one after that.
He is a restraint coach. Most runners he meets are doing too much, too long, too often. Training is built around two or three key sessions a week with the rest kept genuinely easy, because consistency over months is what moves the needle, not any single heroic week. Better to reach the start line a touch under-trained and healthy than perfectly fit and broken.
And he coaches you to coach yourself. Fuelling is trained like part of the session, you learn to read effort instead of obeying a watch, and you learn the difference between a niggle and an injury. The plan adapts to your week, never the other way round, until eventually you trust your own judgement, with Jason there for the calls that matter.
The philosophy
“Run easy genuinely easy, run hard genuinely hard, and let the long run teach your legs the back nine. You'll get fitter the moment you stop racing your easy days. My whole job is protecting that.”
Three ways to train together.
Every athlete is coached by Jason himself. Each tier is the same method at a different depth, from a structured week with a monthly check-in to a weekly session in Sydney or a remote deep dive.
Every athlete is coached personally by Jason: a 2:24 marathoner, an Athletics Australia Advanced Running Coach, and a former professional triathlete.

Sydney or remote
Jason's deepest work, every week. In Sydney that is a session in the same room: gait work, hands-on drills, and race planning you can feel. Remote athletes get the same depth over a weekly deep-dive video session.
No payment to apply. Start with the free plan if you like, then we talk on a short call and settle the right tier together.
Bespoke runs in person in Sydney or remotely, at the same price. Every athlete is coached by Jason.
